Convict cichlids

Convict cichlids (Amatitlania nigrofasciata), also known as zebra cichlids, are a type of freshwater fish that are native to Central America. They are a popular aquarium fish due to their attractive striped coloration and their relatively small size. Convict cichlids are relatively easy to care for, but when they are breeding they become territorial and bit defensive against other fish. They are omnivorous and will eat a variety of foods, including pellets, flakes, live or frozen insects, and vegetables. Convict cichlids typically live for about 8-10 years in captivity.
